I have published a new packaged based on the calculations used for playingwithpolygons.com.
This is also what has created the SVG polygons in the background of this website. Part of the incentive to pull this out into a package was to more freely use the code to create polygons on this website. However it would be cool if someone else found something else to use it for.

Read moreDefining terms has always been important to me, and the way people use Tech Debt always felt too broad. To aid resolving this I explain my term for Tech Rot to identify the work often hidden behind Tech Debt.
This term defining started with Shadow Agile, and hopefully I find more terms that excite me enough to define in the future.

This website has been rebuilt from an old gatsby website, to Astro. Still hosting it on netlify, but I have been tempted to explore cloudflare.
During the initial build out I kept a developer log, which at some point I will compile into a write up about re-platforming this site.

Headless Games

I like the idea of exploring UX though games, and getting a better understanding of the tools I use daily. Inspired by headless UI libs, I want to explore creating games that embody the headless idea. While it’s not something I have spent a lot of time on, I do quite like the idea and will try to keep adding to it over the years.

Mewgenics

Started playing Mewgenics this week, and really my initial review of it can be summed up by the fact that after seeing that it was midnight, when I looked at it 10 mins later is was 2:30am.
Really enjoying it so far, though I’m still not sure what the “right” way to play it is.

Seeking Mortality

I have been thinking about the phase “seeking mortality” in some of my writing recently. I believe most people will think of it as having a sombre focus. But I think it’s only sombre because it’s framed as a destination, not a journey.
I want to explore the idea of seeking mortality as a framing for a characters life. Potentially an all powerful immortal learning how to transcend the last step by seeking mortality.

Factorio: Galaxy of Fame

I first purchased Factorio in 2014, and have always adored every new update that has come with it since.
With the release of Space Age in 2024, it was an instant buy where I booked time off work to play it. Then nearly a year after, I finished my Space Age save and reached the system edge, earning me my Galaxy of Fame star.
Not every achievement is one that others will understand, but I really enjoyed achieving this one.
